Noctem is a racer in which you're a ball of light. Along the track you
slowly lose your light, diminishing the distance in whicn you can see
further along the track. To combat this, you must pick up white
powerups called Lumen to increase the amount of light you emit,
allowing you to see farther down the track.
I was the Asset lead in which I would be the mediator between
the art team and the programming team, making sure we get the art and
sounds
for our game. I also made the multi-layered sound engine which uses
OpenAL as the audio API and loads Ogg Vorbis sounds. I have also made a
scripting system which was used for level loading and some sound
loading.
As a side note, Shake n Bake was the name of our studio. Somebody got
it from the movie Talladega Nights. Also, the picture was found by one
of the guys. If anybody knows the source it would be awesome if you
could send me an e-mail at dlongest@doomtoast.com.

Canisk is the first game I have created on a team of three. The other
two members were Andrew Johnson and Bryan Lister. It is a game in which
the goal is to destroy enemy castles and take over all of the
territories within the game world. It is also a multiplayer game in
which you can play with up to four people using gamepads or mice.
I had no official title for the creation of this game, but I had
created the particle editor and some of the art for the game. I also
worked on creating the GUI (Graphical User Interface). At the time of
making this game, one of
the lab instructers named Keyvan requested that we use multiple mice
which proved very difficult for us being the first time we have made a
game, or tried programming multiple mouse input. However, we did get it
working.
You can download the game
here.
